Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers 2010 - Results

New ! ! !  ** 2  Sept 10 **

2 Sep 10.

The Queensland Police Service - Weapons Licensing have released the draft of the Weapons Bill 2010 and the Draft Weapons Regulations 2010. The draft bill can be accessed through the Qld Police web site.  Draft Bill 2010

All members are invited to read the Draft Bill and Regulations and make submissions.  All Submissions are required by 14 Sept 2010.

It is very important that as many people read and make submissions as possible.  Remember this may well be the future of our sport.

  1. Part 5 of the draft bill. Page 206 - Para 262(1)
States "a person must not possess an adjustable stock if the stock is able to reduce the overall length of a category A, B, C or D weapon by more than 75mm"

The Anschutz target rifle has the ability to extend the stock by at least 140mm with the purchase of extension bars, not to mention if you where to manufacture your own.  If you did have longer extension bars then your Rifle would be illegal.

Very important that we make as many submissions as possible.

  1. Part 5 of the draft bill. Page 206 - Para 262(2)
States " A person must not possess an adjustable stock if the stock is able to reduce the overall length of a category A, B, C or D weapon in the possession of the person to less than 75cm."

This will only effect a small number of people. Any one with the Steyr Target Air Rifle will find that the stock only measures approx 65cm well under the 75cm which will be allowed.

Please remember this may be the future of our sport we do need to take theses changes seriously. Please read the draft and do what you think is better for our sport.  Submissions close 14 Sep 2010.
